Think you know the whole story behind Facebook? Think again. With 500 million active users, it’s no surprise that The Social Network is still the #5 movie in the country. “The Social Network” is based on Ben Mezrich’s 2009 book, The Accidental Billionaires, which tells the strange-but-true tale of the founding of Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg, (Jesse Eisenberg of Zombieland) and Eduardo Saverin, (Andrew Garfield of Never Let Me Go) along with the legal battles that followed Zuckerberg after Facebook became a success. David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin have created a quick, witty, and overall enjoyable film about the birth of a website that has come to define a generation.
“The Social Network” director, David Fincher’s directorial credits include Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has once again proven why he is among the most respected, and in-demand Hollywood talents at the moment. Fincher is currently filming the US version of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which stars Rooney Mara (Zuckerberg’s scorned ex-girlfriend in “The Social Network” who beat out all of the young, fabulous A-list actresses vying for the part of the pierced, tattooed, computer hacker with an axe to grind, Lisbeth Salander.
