Despite his previous claim that three was his limit, director Michael Bay has agreed to make a fourth “Transformers” movie, claiming that he’ll be digging deeper back into the “older characters and lore” of the toy/cartoon series. Here’s my vote for spending some serious screen-time with the dinosaurs that turn into cassette tapes!

I don’t know whether it seems more preposterous that a “Three Stooges” movie has been made, or that the new trailer for the Farrelly brothers’ latest creation actually seems pretty entertaining — at least, if you’re a fan of the original stuff. If you want to bone up on the Stooges’ act, there’s still time. Here’s a classic bit of theirs involving a holiday turkey, and here’s a book that reveals everything that was going on behind the scenes.

The serial novel has fallen completely out of fashion since the glory days of Dickens … or has it? The Huffington Post has announced that it’s going to start publishing serial novels in eBook form, effective immediately. Their first effort will be Seeing Red by Claudia Ricci. Waiting for the next installment is probably no worse than waiting for the next season of a beloved TV show to start. As someone who bought all six installments of Stephen King‘s The Green Mile, I’ll be curious to see how this goes.

One of the best things about the close of the year is the “Best of” lists that start pouring in. None other than John Waters joined in the tradition with his own list of Best Movies of 2011 — and though it’s a nice roundup, we, of course, see plenty more room for book-to-film adaptations.

Thanks for the warning. I walked out of T3. He is the worst director of the big name directors (see T 1-3, Pearl Habour, Armageddon, the Island for reference).
Sad, with all the budget thrown his way, he can’t tell a story coherently, or develop a single character. But his crap makes lots of money. Just shows you, give them crap (or Rap coincidentally rhymes with it, but thats another story), they’ll eat it up (how do you think McDonalds made it?)!
