I don’t know what led iconic creepster Christopher Walken to read Where the Wild Things Are aloud,  but I am so grateful to hear it — especially for his little narrative asides in places where there are no words. It really makes me want to watch the movie again.

Mark Ruffalo so loves his stint as the Incredible Hulk in the new “Avengers” film that he’s inked a six-picture promise to reprise the role. I’m just as wild about the Hulk as anyone else, but SIX films? Not even Superman has made it to six films, and that’s even counting that 2006 jaunt starring Katie Holmes.

We’ve been drooling over casting news related to HBO’s miniseries adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s The Corrections for many months now, so it is with a heavy heart and total disbelief that we report that it’s just not going to happen. Apparently the network had “issues with the accessibility of the story’s time-shifting narrative,” which I suppose goes to show you that there are so many things you can get away with in a literary format that just don’t work onscreen.

Two of the musicals nominated for Tony Awards this year are adapted from film. You’ve got “Once,” based on the 2006 film about a romance between two singer/songwriters, and then there’s  “Newsies,” adapted from the 1992 tween-lust juggernaut starring a young Christian Bale. Both shows are certain to enjoy an extended run thanks to the nomination, so you have plenty of time to save up a kabillion dollars to buy tickets. (In the meantime, the “Ghost” musical only got nominated for Best Featured Actress and stuff like Lighting, so tickets may be a little more accessible. )

I don’t remember seeing Katie Holmes in Superman Returns. Wasn’t it Kate Bosworth?
