Summer Reading Giveaway: Win a Beach Bag of Movie Adaptations
July 30, 2012
As we enter the final, sweltering month of summer, our attention starts to turn toward fall movie season. We spend the first eight months of the year savoring casting news, movie posters, and teaser trailers, all in anticipation for the bevy of award show contenders to finally arrive in theaters as the weather changes. Where we really luck out is when a movie has literary roots, and we are able to experience the story on the page, before it is adapted for the screen. And what better time to ready yourself by reading the book first than those glorious weeks that take us from dog days to Indian summer? To keep yourself entertained and prepared for future literary movie adaptations, read on for how to enter our summer reading beach bag giveaway.
Sign up for our weekly Word & Film newsletter and you will be entered for a chance to win a Random House beach tote stuffed with four of our favorite books that are destined for big-screen adaptation! Our weekly newsletter wraps up the week in adaptation news and is delivered right to your inbox. (Check out previous newsletters here.) Residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) are eligible. Prizes include one copy of each of the following books:
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (Watch the trailer)
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (Find out who has been cast as the lead)
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (Watch the trailer)
The Alchemyst by Michael Scott (Find out more about the movie)
