No one in the literary world tweets with less restraint than Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Less Than Zero). His recent moaning over the screenwriter hired to adapt Fifty Shades of Grey has gone beyond sour grapes — apparently he’d been holding out hope of writing the script himself? — and is reaching the point of self-parody. Hey, as long as he’s enjoying the attention that’s fine! (Less fine are his suggestions that Matt Bomer is “too gay” to play BDSM hottie Christian Grey.)
It’s easy to poke fun at Arnold Schwarzenegger (we did it just the other day) but never forget how iconic the man and his muscles truly are. Did you ever stop to think about how much video game promo art has been outright stolen from films like “Predator” and “Commando”? Naturally no acknowledgments were given, but the side-by-side comparison is pretty damning. Can we chalk it up to imitation being the sincerest form of flattery?

You know what the next big film coming to Broadway will be? First of all, whatever popped into your head is probably also correct. But the one I’m specifically reporting on is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” based on the unforgettable Truman Capote novel. Yes, Holly Golightly will have her moment in the spotlight (again) in February 2013, embodied this time by “A Game of Thrones” actress Emelia Clarke. Doesn’t look like it’s going to be a musical … that’s been tried already. It didn’t work.
