Based On the book by Katsuhiro Otomo

Akira is a cancelled live action cyberpunk action film based on the 1982–90 manga of the same name by Katsuhiro Otomo. The film has been in development hell for decades, with productions struggling to move beyond pre-production stages and numerous writers and directors having been attached and later removed from the project. Warner Bros. Pictures held the rights to a live-action version adaptation of the manga from 2002 through 2025.
