How to Train Your Dragon is an American fantasy adventure media franchise from DreamWorks Animation and based on the book series of the same name by British author Cressida Cowell. It consists of three feature films: How to Train Your Dragon (2010), How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014), and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019). A live-action remake of the first film was released in 2025, with a sequel scheduled for 2027. The franchise primarily follows a young Viking named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, generally known as Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel in the animated films, and portrayed by Mason Thames in the live-action films), son of Stoick the Vast, leader of the Viking island of Berk.
