Based On “The Garden of God”

Return to the Blue Lagoon is a 1991 American South Seas romantic adventure film directed and produced by William A. Graham and starring Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause. The film is a sequel to The Blue Lagoon (1980), which was a fairly close adaptation of the 1908 novel The Blue Lagoon by Henry De Vere Stacpoole. The screenplay by Leslie Stevens used some basic elements from the sequel novels The Garden of God (1923) and The Gates of Morning (1925) and even from an earlier film adaptation of The Blue Lagoon (1949), but the film was more a remake than a sequel. The original music score was written, composed and performed by Basil Poledouris.
