Postcards from the Edge

Postcards from the Edge is the debut novel by the American actress and writer Carrie Fisher, first published in 1987. Based on Fisher's own experiences of fame and substance use disorder, the semi-autobiographical novel was later adapted by Fisher herself into a motion picture of the same name, which was directed by Mike Nichols and released by Columbia Pictures in 1990. Fisher wrote a sequel to the novel, The Best Awful There Is, which was published in 2004.
