"The Hobbit" is about to become an even more three-dimensional experience. For a limited time, Denny's restaurants will feature a Middle Earth-inspired menu, including items such as "Gandalf's Gobble Melt" and "Radagast's Red Velvet Pancake Puppies." Speaking of 3-D, you may also obtain a set of special viewing glasses that have been molded to look extra Tolkienian, even though they're basically the same plastic crap you'd normally throw away without a second thought.
Angelina Jolie has shoehorned two more of her children into Disney's "Maleficent." At first it was just little Vivienne playing the part of a young Elle Fanning, but now Zahara and Pax are going to appear as well. Will someone please pass a message to their parents? You're millionaires: spring for daycare.
Some sights and sounds are so embedded in our culture that we don't even stop to wonder where they came from. After decades of toil, Clark Kent is quitting his day job as a reporter for the Daily Planet. According to Superman's publisher, "This is not the first time in DC Comics history that Clark Kent has left the Planet, and this time the resignation reflects present-day issues – the balance of journalism vs. entertainment, the role of new media, the rise of the citizen journalist, etc." Which inspires the question: What would Superman blog about? Fortunately the internet is very welcoming to people who want to hide behind fake identities.
